  • Bowline for creating a fixed loop that’s easy to untie later.
  • Cleat hitch for clean, secure tie-ups at docks and hoists.
  • Figure-eight stopper knot to keep lines from running through hardware.
  • Double fisherman’s knot for joining two lines when needed.

EXAMPLE SESSION

How a typical session might flow.

  • Dry-land practice with dock posts or rails and a set of lines.
  • Slow walk-through of each knot with repetition until it feels natural.
  • Real-world practice tying off to your dock, hoist, or cleats.
  • Photo or reference sheet you can keep on your phone or onboard.
